Blood and Water

This title expresses the indefinableties we have with our families and how the bond that we ‘often forget’ in the chaos of our busy lives,can be for some that eternal strength that holds us up, no matter what else lets us down in life.
These photographs taken over a four year period, about my own family.It concerns the fragmentation affecting them now as my Mother and Father embark on retirement and my three brothers as well as myself are slowly drifting away. It also concerns my Mothers Father who is 87 but is now suffering from vascular dimentia his continuing loss of memory was the inspiration for this project.
Although these images are about my own family it also just as much about the relationship I have with them and the way I perceive them as my family and as my’ Blood and Water’ in life.I hope that audiences also see the comparison in this, within there own family lives.
